【摘要】:Sincecoatedpipemaybestoredoutdoorsforlongperiodsbeforeburial,weatheringtestsofthetypedescribedinthistestmethodareneededtoevaluatethestabilityofthesecoatingsstoredoutdoors.Theresultsobtainedshouldbetreatedonlyasindicatingthegeneraleffectofweathering.Exposureconditionsvarygreatlyfromyeartoyear,fromonepartofayeartoanother,andfromlocalitytolocality.Theresultsofshort-termexposuretestsinthenortharemoremeaningfulifexposureisstartedinthesummerfollowedbyawinterseason.Insouthernareaswhereclimaticconditionsaremoreuniformthroughouttheyear,thetimeofyearwhenshort-termexposureisstartedislesscritical.Inalllocalities,thelongertheexposureperiod,themorereliablearetheresultsobtained.1.1Thistestmethodisintendedtodefineconditionsfortheexposureofcoatedpipetoweather.1.2Thistestmethodspecifiesqualificationsforthesamples,proceduretobefollowedinexposuretoweather,andprocedureforevaluatingeffectsofexposureincludingvisualexaminationandothertests.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitstothreesignificantdecimalsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
